Private Sewing Lesson with Debbie

Sewing lessons are $40/hour. Minimum age is 8 years old AND have the ability to read, measure and use scissors well. We have Bernina sewing machines at our shop for use, or you may bring your own machine. 

Lessons are student-driven and usually project-based, but can be focused entirely on techniques. It's private, so it's up to you!

Please note: Once you have booked and paid for online for your lesson, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. You will also receive an e-mail reminder 24 hours in advance of your lesson. Cancellations need to be made two (2) hours in advance for a full refund.

Hi I'm Debbie! I've been working, sewing and teaching at Bolt & Spool for more than a decade. I'm a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art with a degree in textiles. I enjoy growing and harvesting plants for spinning, dyeing, weaving and knitting my own cloth. And I have participated in the Rustbelt Fibershed's "One Year One Outfit" challenge for the past three years. I am happy teaching beginning and advanced sewing, cloning your favorite clothes and most any project-focused lessons. I have a new little one, so my time now is limited to teaching during shop hours. I offer a reduced rate to compesate you for any in-store customer interruptions. 

Tuesday and Thursday afternoons are usually the best days for me.
