For all sizes of little girls, and all types of rainy days! Brighten a young girls outlook with fresh laminated prints (for the Raincoat) or home dec fabrics (for the Runabout Jacket). A lightweight lining and multiple style options with great finishes, these sweet jackets are the cure for rainy days!
Fabric Requirements: for all sizes and styles
The yardage given is for a one-way design. Allow extra yardage for matching or centering a design on your fabric.
Use laminated fabric for a rain jacket; a light jacket can be make with twill, denim, canvas, or home dec fabric. For the Lining use either 44 in wide quilting weight or 54 in mid-weight Home Dec fabric.
This Coat was designed as a fitted garment so light weight clothing can be worn underneath. Make the next larger size for heavier layers.
Notions: thread, small spool Button & Carpet thread, 3/4" buttons (see chart below), 5/16" flat 4-hole buttons (see chart below)
IF USING LAMINATED FABRIC YOU'LL ALSO NEED THE FOLLOWING SUPPLIES:
1 pkg of double sided tape, size 12 or 14 sharp sewing machine needles, binder clips or large paper clips, tape, Teflonå¨ coated presser foot for your sewing machine or a roller presser foot.
TOOLS NEEDED: Scissors, Measuring tape, Ruler, Iron and Ironing board, Straight pins, Long straight pins, Hand sewing needle, Seam ripper, Smooth edge tracing wheel, 1 pkg of wax free tracing paper from Prym-Dritzå¨, Chalk pencil, Turning tool (such as a closed pair of scissors)
