Designed in the Liberty studio, Rohan Kiaan is an ode to the wonderful craftsmanship of textiles. Inspired by educational silk weaving exhibitions held at the Liberty store during the 1880s, this mesmerizing check pattern features alternating rows of small, rectangular blocks. Vibrant color contrasts serve as conduits for tessellating movement, creating the effect of simple woven structures. This print is part of the Craftsmanship narrative of this collection, exploring the creative process from within the Liberty archive, from print impressions and embroidered studies, to ceramics, jewelry, and furniture. ooks and prototypes.

Divided into four acts - The Stage, The Cast, The Audience, The Next Act – this collection goes behind scenes of the iconic Tudor building and into the eclectic emporium where our story is retold. Crafted from two timber ships, the Liberty flagship forms the perfect stage to welcome this play’s cast of influential characters who have paved the way for an array of artistic movements. Dressed to entice and delight its viewers, from music legends and models to writers and actors, Liberty’s customers are our most inspiring muse. Whoever steps through the elaborate façade is taken on an extraordinary journey of magic, mystery, and charm. Finally, as we move onto the next act, a new generation of designers begin to experiment with the boundaries of technology and art.
Printing takes place at the Liberty mill in northern Italy, which uses both innovative digital technology and age-old techniques. From signature, obsessively fine-tuned Tana Lawn™ cotton and luxurious silk to lightweight linen and sustainable bases, Liberty fabrics are brilliant canvases for bespoke creations of all kinds, offering brands and garments an authority on quality and style.
