Sewing Machine Exchange

Are you looking to get rid of an old (or new), working sewing machine?

We want provide a "matchmaking" service for your sewing machine. We would like to connect budding sewists with affordable or, preferably, free sewing machines to get them started in a very useful and rewarding hobby.

Bring us your old machine, we'll make sure it works, and we will get it to a person in need.

Some caveats :

- We will not accept a non-functioning machine. We will test it to make sure it works.

- We do not clean or repair machines. We recommend Globe Sewing Center for machine servicing.

- The machine does not need to have all parts, or a manual. But it MUST have a presser foot (the thing that holds the fabric down) and a pedal (the thing you press with your foot).

- We have limited space, and unfortunately cannot house sewing machines with an integrated desk/table/cabinet. But we'd be happy to list yours on our website, and hopefully help you find a home for it! Please contact us if this is what you've got.

- We cannot pick up or deliver the machine.

- We will not pay more than $50 for your machine. We are not collectors, and we are not selling to collectors. Sorry, we don't know of any collectors.

- Craigslist is also a good option for buying / selling machines.
