Green Pepper Polar Beanie Hat Pattern

Make four kinds of polar beanies with this one pattern!  Cozy and warm to wear, quick and easy to sew.  Sew up the Classic Beanie with a tassel or decorative trim.  For an extra warm hat, sew the Boarder Beanie which has a double-thick band for extra ear protection.  For the perfect running hat, sew the Runner Beanie with lightweight microfleece and a Lycra band.  You can make two beanies with required yardage - sew one for a friend too!

Fabric Suggestions:
Classic or Boarder:  Fleece fabric such as PolarTec 200, 300, or Windblock. Use our organic cotton fleece!
Runner:  Top - Microfleece or any lightweight fleece; Band - Lycra fabric such as wicking Polyproplyene Lycra. 
Fabric MUST have crosswise stretch for proper sizing.

Classic (yardage is enough for 2 beanies), 60" (150cm) fleece fabric:  3/8 yd (.34m)
Boarder, 60" (150cm) fleece fabric:  1/4 yd (.23m)
Runner (yardage is enough for 2 beanies), Top - 60" (150cm) fleece fabric: 1/4 yd (.23m); Band - 60" (150cm) Lycra fabric: 1/4 yd (.23m)

Optional Tassel - 1/4 yd (.23cm) 5/16" (.7cm) flat cord or lacing; Optional Decorative Braid - 3/8 yd (.34m) 5/16" (.7cm) flat cord or lacing
