Green Pepper String Bag Pattern

This simple design features easy construction and the convenience of zippered pockets.  Sew it up from heavier fabric for a "pack" look or make it from a lighter fabric for a bag in the folk craft tradition. This pattern has two versions:  center pull straps (for lighter weight fabrics) or side pull straps. Add optional outer and inner zipper pockets and a D-ring key holder to organize all your extras.

Sizes: 
Mini:  13"h x 11"w
Small: 14-3/4"h x 13-1/4"w
Medium:  17"h x 14-3/4"w

Fabric Suggestions: 
Outer Fabric, Heavy:  Oil cloth, dry oil cloth, canvas, denim, velvet, OR 
Outer Fabric, Light: Coated nylon ripstop, cotton, or laminated/coated cotton.
Lining:  Cotton lawn, quilting cotton, essex linen, or laminated/coated cotton (like for carrying a swimsuit or wet towel).

Notions: 
1/2" (13mm) webbing or ribbon straps - Center Pull Version: 1-7/8 yd (1.7m) to 2-3/8 yd (2.2m); Side Pull Version: 3-1/4 yd (3m) to 4 yd (3.7m)
Thread, two #4 coil zipper pulls #4 coil zipper in 5/8 yd (.57m) for mini or 3/4 yd (.7m) for small or 7/8 yd (.8m) for medium.
Optional Key Holder: one 1/2" (1.2cm) D-ring or tri-ring.
